What is my Renewal Cycle?

DENTISTS - All even numbered licensees will renew in even numbered years. All odd numbered licensees will renew in odd numbered years. The license renewal period is from October 1 to December 1
DENTAL HYGIENISTS - All even numbered licensees will renew in even numbered years. All odd numbered licensees will renew in odd numbered years. The license renewal period is from October 1 to December 1
ASSISTANTS - N/A

How Many Credits Do I Need?

DENTISTS - All dentists will need 60 hours of CE, including 2 hours of ethics, since December 1st of the last renewal or 30 hours if it is the first renewal.
DENTAL HYGIENISTS - Hygienists will need 30 hours of CE, including 1 hour of ethics, since December 1st of the last renewal, or 15 hours if this is the first renewal.
ASSISTANTS - There are no education or training requirements for this level of dental assisting.

What, if Any, Are The Mandatory Subjects?

DENTISTS - "Two (2) hour of ethics Up to 4 hours in CPR training may be used toward your CE renewal requirement"
DENTAL HYGIENISTS - One (1) hour of ethics Up to 4 hours in CPR training may be used toward your CE renewal requirement
ASSISTANTS - Assisting in the administration and monitoring of nitrous oxide and/or oxygen: The dental assistant must be certified in CPR and successfully complete a Kansas Board-approved course of instruction which includes 16 hours of instruction at a CODA-accredited teaching program which includes both didactic and clinical instruction in: (A) theory of pain control, (B) anatomy, (C) medical history, (D) pharmacology and (E) emergencies and complications.

Is There a Limit to The Number of Online Classes

There is no limit on the number of CE hours that may be taken online.
